Workplace Assessment for a Store

Industry-Specific Workplace Assessment for Stores and Retail

  • Heavy lifting, pulling, and pushing during goods delivery, rolling cages, pallet jacks, and stocking shelves.
  • Strenuous work postures and repetitive movements while working at the checkout, price-tagging, packing, and working on the floor.
  • Risks of falling, tripping, and getting pinched on store floors, in warehouses, on ramps, and in back rooms.
  • A fast-paced environment, fluctuating staffing levels, and conflicting demands between customer service, sales targets, and operational tasks.
  • Conflicts, threats, and inappropriate behavior during interactions with customers and at the checkout.

The workplace risk assessment provides you with a systematic framework for identifying risks, assessing their severity, and prioritizing a workplace risk assessment action plan that includes responsibilities, deadlines, and follow-up. It also strengthens your discussions on workplace health and safety within management and the Workplace Health and Safety Committee (AMO).

A workplace assessment (APV) is not just a legal requirement, but an important tool for gaining insight into employee well-being and the work environment. However, the process can also seem overwhelming if you have to handle the planning, data collection, analysis, and follow-up on your own. With Acture, you gain an experienced partner who will guide you safely through the entire process. We ensure that the workplace assessment complies with applicable requirements—and help translate it into concrete actions that create value for your organization.
01

Introductory meeting

We’ll start with an introductory meeting where we’ll tailor the questionnaire to your stores, employee groups, and workflows. Together, we’ll clarify aspects such as customer interaction, receiving merchandise, ergonomics, work pace, shift schedules, and known challenges.

02

Data collection

You’ll receive direct links, and your employees will respond 100% anonymously to a digital well-being survey. We’ll plan the data collection to accommodate rotating shifts and employees without regular desk access, and we’ll assist with communication throughout the process.

03

Report and presentation

We’ll present the report to you, compare it with our industry-specific benchmark, and develop your action plan. You’ll get a clear picture of your strengths and areas for improvement, as well as recommendations for follow-up measures, such as ergonomic consulting, workshops, or health screenings.
